Highlands and Islands

April 2011 saw the inaugural meeting of the new Highlands and Islands Branch which aims to reach members in some of Scotland’s most remote areas.

Helen Beveridge, Highlands and Islands Branch chair, said: “Starting this branch was about making sense of the geographical membership and getting the resources to go out and deliver the IOSH message to more places than are currently accessible.”

"As a Committee we are very keen to make our events and other IOSH information available to you regardless of where you live in the Highlands and Islands.  We continue to look at alternatives and this year we will be digitally recording the CPD sessions and uploading them onto the Highlands and Islands Branch microsite on the national IOSH website. Where possible we will also be making the speaker’s material available.

Please contact Helen Beveridge (Chair)  or Ian Soden (Secretary) with your views on how best we can reach those of you who are unable to attend at the Kingsmills Hotel in Inverness. We would also like to hear from members on future subjects to be covered at the monthly CPD events, topics need not be solely related to health or safety but could just as well cover the development of new professional skills.

Please make a note of the CPD dates, block out your diary and come to the Kingsmills to get a valuable input on a subject that you may not normally deal with. We look forward to seeing you throughout the forthcoming season!"
